Author: Alphonse Daudet
Alphonse Daudet (1840 - 1897) French author. From the very beginning, Daudet's career as a writer was quite successful and prolific. He wrote his first novel at the age of 14. His funniest and most read book appeared in 1871, under the title of Tartarin de Tarascon. Two more books about this curious and loving character followed. Daudet enjoyed prosperity and fame. He died in Paris in 1897.
